Summary: Definitely worth the wait.
Comment: After waiting for this album, I was ecstatic to receive it in the mail. Every song I love for its own individual reasons. Juliana is such a talented singer-songwriter, I advise anyone to add this album to their collection.

Summary: Easily her best work. Period.
Comment: Immediately accessible, stylistically varied, with simply beautiful songwriting throughout, this album makes having stuck with Hatfield through the years immensely rewarding. Highly recommended for listeners who are unfamiliar with her music. You'll be captivated for sure.

Summary: Different... in a good way.
Comment: Artists who don't grow... tend to die. Anyone familiar with Juliana's work will sense a similar structure, but experience a distinctly new execution. Personally, I like her new direction as much as her past efforts, and 'Some Girls' makes for a nice bridge between the two.

Summary: Juliana please don't walk away from music
Comment: I love this album. To me this is Juliana's best album so far, and truly is a great album. Many of these songs could be hits on the radio and MTV, that is if radio stations still played good music and MTV still showed music videos.

Summary: Sounding More Like The Juliana I Know And Love
Comment: The first half of this CD is as good as anything she has ever done. From sad and heart wrenching, to snarky and funny. The production is huge, but seems to fit the songs. The last couple of tunes didn't really do it for me and seemed to be filler. I know she has better tunes out there that would have made this CD perfect, but I'm still very happy with what she gave us.

Editorial Reviews:

Juliana Hatfield, no less an intriguing, compelling character today, has been working as a recording artist for twenty years. With the release of ''How To Walk Away,'' her 10th solo album, she again proves herself to be an uncompromising artist with impeccable pop instincts, a disdain for artifice, a completely original voice, and a contrarian streak. ''How To Walk Away'' was produced by Andy Chase (of Ivy) at Stratosphere Sound in NYC and features guests Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs) and Matthew Caws (Nada Surf) on vocals, Jody Porter (Fountains Of Wayne) on guitar, Tracy Bonham on violin, and more.
