Summary: Great Pop Album
Comment: Just a pure fun party album. Not too serious and awesome catch phrases in the lyrics. I love that she included 'UR So Gay' on the album from her earlier work. Self-Inflicted is my foavorite that hasn't hit the airwaves yet.

Summary: My favorite guilty pleasure
Comment: With all the hype around Katy Perry, I had to check out what all the fuss is about. I recently acquired a copy of her cd ONE OF THE BOYS. I honestly didn't have any expectations for the album except maybe to not like it since I don't listen to pop music for most of the time. Much to my surprise, I found myself enjoying ONE OF THE BOYS. It is a fun, infectious pop/rock album and nothing more than that for me. The silly lyrics for the most part doesn't bother me but they do get on my nerves on songs like "Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl" (which has outstayed its welcome in pop culture IMO). My personal favorite songs on the album is "Waking Up in Vegas" and the anthemic "Hot 'N Cold". I especially like the infectious pop hooks in "Hot 'N Cold". Katy Perry has a pretty decent voice although there are times on the cd when she is better off turning it down a notch or two on the wailing. Overall ONE OF THE BOYS is a fun album, flawed but still fun.

Comment: This cd is pretty great for a debut album. Katy Perry knows her direction and she has her own style, and thats WAY BETTER than the other generic teenage pop stars who just pops pops pops.
Highlights of this album are (in order): Hot & Cold, Lost, I Kissed A Girl, One of The Boys, Ur So Gay, Waking Up in Vegas.
Recommended.
