Customer Rating: Summary: Bluetooth savvy Comment: I'm very satisfied w/this bluetooth. I only wish the case it comes w/had a belt clip attached.
Customer Rating: Summary: The End of the Journey Comment: Living in CA I was finally forced to purchase a headset to conform to the law that went into effect on July 1, 2008. The search began around the end of May, beginning of June. I mostly needed it in my car, so my goal was to find one on which I could hear callers clearly and they could hear me clearly when I was driving at highway speeds. I would say my car is moderately noisy. So I started with some of the older Plantronics 300 series and found that either I couldn't hear my callers easily or they couldn't hear me well enough. Then I tried the more highly rated Voyager 520. I really liked it! When the phone rang I could quickly pick it up out of the console in my car and put in my ear. I found it quite comfortable and easy to put on. I could hear others easily and at first others seemed to hear me. However, after a few weeks people started complaining that I was cutting out, so sadly back to the store it went.
So on to the Jawbone series. At first only the Jawbone 1 was on the market. When I got it the first thing I noticed were the cheap and ill fitting earpieces. I was used to the Plantronics earpieces which I liked much better. People could hear me clearly on it, but even at top volume it was hard to hear them at highway speeds. By the time I returned these, the Jawbone 2 had just come out so I tried it. Alas, the earpieces were now leather and seemed to fit a little better, but still not great. Others could hear me quite well and I could hear them well at the top volume setting (although the sound was a little tinny) as long as the little voice sensor was in contact with the jaw (hence the name). However, I found that as I was talking the sensor tended to work its way off my jaw, greatly diminishing the quality of the connection. Because the on/off controls were on the outward side of the unit, when I would try to push on the earpiece to touch my jaw, often I would disconnect the call. Very disconcerting! Okay, so back to the store with this one.
Reluctantly, I went for the Plantronics Discovery 925. I thought I would have to jam it in my ear, so I had avoided trying it. Well it turns out that it fits fairly snugly onto the outer part of the ear. And lo and behold the sound was excellent on both ends! In fact sometimes the highest setting was TOO loud and had to go one notch down. The sound was rich with little or none of the tininess I experienced with the Jawbone. It was quick and easy to place in my ear and synced up quickly with my cell phone (Jawbone was much slower). It eventually passed the ultimate test for my purposes, which was talking with my wife on her 925 while both of us were in our cars driving on the highway.
I've been using the 925 for a few months now and give it hearty thumbs up. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars, but unfortunately that's not allowed. I'm only knocking it one-half star because in the few circumstances where I used it in the wind, I didn't seem to do a great job of canceling out the noise.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent; no complaints Comment: This was my first Bluetooth headset, and I obsessed a little bit over the decision. Being the Mac guy that I am, I really wanted to want the one from Apple, but the reviews were just too sketchy. Although this one was a bit pricier, it has worked flawlessly for many long calls home. Charge capacity is more than adequate for my needs. Sound quality is as close to perfect/landline sound as I have ever had, particularly when I'm on the 3G network. LOVE this headset! Just get it....
Customer Rating: Summary: CLEUNG6152 Comment: I've tried the 520, 650 and now the 925. I also tried the B&O and Jawbone2. So far I'd give 925 the best rating.
Pro-
clarity
battery life (very long compare to others)
comfort
weight
carry case is great with build-in charger
easy to pair up to 2 phone
Con-
surrounding noise pick up(it does amplify your voice when you speak, but surruounding noise is still there)
Other than that, it is highly recommended. I have tried many headset, and this is by far the best at this price point.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very comfortable Comment: I am no bluetooth headset expert, but I do really like this one. The outgoing call quality is not superb but it is good. What I really like about this headset is the fit of the earpiece. There's no earloop and since the headset sits inside your ear you can hear very easily with it, even in noisy environments. It's very comfortable inside your ear even for long periods of time and I've never had it fall out.
I also was able to pair it with both my cell phone and my computer and use it for a headset on both simultaneously, works great for that.
