Summary: Cordless DECT 6.0 GE 27909
Comment: The cordless DECT 6.0 Stainless-Steel-Finish Handset (GE 27909) is a great looking telephone. It comes in two finishes, Stainless-Steel and Black. The reason why I gave it a rating of two is the over all quality ,other than appearance, needs some attention, such as Battery Installation Instructions, Battery installation not to friendly, remote base to flimsy, defective product right of the box and no phone support.
The instruction of installating a battery needs to be stated (hacked up cover on base unit to pry cover lose until found out that the cover has to be slid upward while pushing button at bottom of phone.)
The installation of the battery has to be reconsidered (PUSHING BUTTON AT BOTTOM OF HANDSET AND SLIDING COVER UPWARD is not to easy).
Remote base needs some weight to be more stable when inserting remote handset or grab the remote base same time when inserting romote handset into base or last resort screw remote base into furniture, lol.
Purchased two DECT 6.0 Stainless-Steel-Finish Handset phones, one bad.
No phone support.
Other then the GE 27909, Amazon did an excellent job on the return.
Looking forward to buying from Amazon again.

Summary: Don't waste your time on this product.
Comment: I could not get this handset to register with my base phone, which means it will not work. I went on line & found out many other people had the same problem. After many attempts to register this handset with my base phone I decided to call the technical support line. Although I was calling a Texas phone number, I'm pretty sure the call went to India. The delay was annoying & the operator repeated the directions from the manual. Not helpful in the least! I finally decided to return the handset to Amazon.com & they are even reimbursing me for all the shipping charges I incurred returning it. I would not recommend this product to anyone!

Summary: If you can't get phone to register with the base......
Comment: Call the Customer Service line. I see several reviews where the phone couldn't register with the base and I was lucky enough to have the same problem. So I called Thomson customer service, not really expecting very much (I even had the Amazon return policy on my computer while on the phone.) Much to my surprise they were actually helpful. I did what they told me to do and it worked. If you have the same problem this is all you have to do:
Make sure to do these steps in order!
1. Unplug the power to the base phone.
2. Unplug the phone line to the base phone.
3. Remove the batteries from the extension.
4. Wait 15 minutes.
5. Now reassmble in the reverse order (ie. Reinstall the batteries, etc.)
6. Follow the directions to register the extension phone.
This worked for me, I hope this is helpful for you.
I give this product 4/5 stars because it wasn't ready to register right out of the box. The phone performs exceptionally well and I would give it 5 stars otherwise.

Summary: Easy Expansion for GE DECT 6.0 Phone
Comment: We purchased this handset about six months after purchasing the "master" phone. I admit I was initially a little concerned about the compatibility and performance. I needn't have worried. The set up took maybe a minute and the phone has worked flawlessly, despite being located in the exact opposite end of our house (it's nice not needing to add a phone line to the room too). The fact that it has the same functionality (minus the answering machine) is an extra bonus. Now I don't have to run down to the master phone or dig out my phone book when I need to make a call. Highly recommended!
