Customer Rating: Summary: No plastic here! Comment: Looking for lasting kitchen tools, this stainless steel injector appears to meet the bill - heavy stock stainless. I love bbq beef brisket and can now inject the meat and never worry about dryness again.
Customer Rating: Summary: unconventional use Comment: I bought this syringe for home repairs. A couple of years ago I installed blocks of 4-inch thick foam insulation in my vaulted ceiling between wooden rafter beams using Liquid Nails and tight-fitting friction. Two of the blocks have been sagging because they were initially warped. I needed a method of injecting more Liquid Nails through the foam with minimal damage.
I liberally coated the inside of the syringe and solid needle with a silicone grease to aid in cleaning. I sucked (with great difficulty) Liquid Nails into the syringe. When I pushed the needle through the foam, of course it filled with foam, but I was able to squeeze it out as I injected Liquid Nails above the foam blocks. Though my first application did not prevent renewed sagging of the foam blocks (I need to inject more glue next time and allow longer drying time before removing my supports), the operation was successful in intent. Furthermore, I was able to clean the syringe of residual Liquid Nails because of the grease application.
Customer Rating: Summary: fun - with attitude! Comment: OK, so I learned very quickly that either you make sure all those little holes are in the meat before you push the plunger on the gadget, or you wear the marinade! We put a garlic herb marinade in a pork roast, and that was the moistest, most flavorful pork roast we've ever had. Putting the flavor inside the meat works so much better than a rub on the outside. Next, we're going to experiment with the chopped herbs/minced garlic injector and see what we can come up with.
Customer Rating: Summary: Marinade Injector Comment: Bayou Classic 5011 2-oz. Stainless Steel Seasoning Injector w/2 Stainless Needles: one for liquid marinaide, and one for minced herbs I went looking for something that would stand up to my hubby's heavy hand because the plastic 30cc Syringe and 14 g Spinal needle didn't. This product fits the bill. He can't break it! I like the side holes better than the end hole on a needle. Gets more flavoring where it's supposed to be. His venison ham was wonderful after injecting it with marinade. A little more $ but well worth it for an avid hunter or anyone who likes to inject their meat with flavorings/marinades. The injector for the dry products is just an added bonus!
Customer Rating: Summary: Stainless Steel Injector works great!! Comment: The Bayau Classic 5011 Stainless Steel Injector performed better than expected. I have used several of the plastic injectors and experienced leakage even to the point of cracking. Not so with this producr. It is a little pricy but I believe well worth the money.
