Customer Rating: Summary: Susan from Naples FL Comment: This is a great Pasta & sauce pot as well as a stew pot. I love it. A friend recommended it, and I am so glade I bought one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fine for a pasta pot but not really much else... Comment: I am kicking myself that I decided to buy this Rachael Ray version over Analon's original design. I figured I'd save myself 30 bucks. This pan is really thin and heats pasta water rapidly because of it, but it is horrible for soups, legumes, etc. Because the walls/bottom of the pan are so thin, stuff sticks and scorches very easily. It's best for pasta or corn on the cob.
I do understand that it being lightweight is a plus for a pasta pot, as it makes it easier to lift and pour...but I really was hoping it could do double duty like Analon's oval 5qt saute pan. Thankfully, though it tends to burn my soup, it does clean up easily!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Pot Comment: Second one I've Purchased. Loved it so much, bought one for my daughter for X-mas. It's a snap to clean and and pours very easily.
Customer Rating: Summary: Do you still need a colander ? Comment: Do you just drain the water from this pot or do you still need a colander ? I don't see a colander to match this pot.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love This Pot Comment: This oval pasta pot is really great. I've always used the traditional vertical pasta pot with strainer insert. It would boil over and the pasta would have to be broken to fit. I highly recommend this one.

Rachael Ray 80650 8-quart covered oval pasta etc. pot with orange handles. Simmer a soup or boil a pound of spaghetti in Rachael Ray's versatile Pasta Etc. Pot. Don't bother breaking long pastas before cooking-this pot's unique oval shape handles them right out of the box. The convenient pour spout lets you drain with ease. Hard-anodized aluminum promotes even heating and resists scratches and scrapes. High-performance nonstick surface releases food cleanly from the pan to the plate. Silicone handles are comfortable in your hand and oven-safe to 400 degrees.
