Summary: best available natural pad
Comment: I highly recommend the Natracare line, and in particular the "super ultra" style.
The "ultra" styles are as thin as the usual supermarket suspects, but without the horrible plastic/chemical smells, and awful tacky packaging.
The pads are all white w/white wrapper, have a soft cottony top, and smell clean. (i.e. like a clean t-shirt, not like something dug out of the back aisle of the drugstore) The "super" style is longer than the "regular" and lasts longer. If available, the "super ultra" style is all I buy.
I haven't bought any of the regular brands in years, after trying Natracare and experiencing the difference. Aside from using cloth pads, this is the most natural alternative I've found, and an effective product that benefits personal health as well as the environment.
Seventh Generation also provides a similar product line with more variety, but I find it to be less natural in smell and feel. They are still a good alternative to the usual brands however and useful to look into for the improved variety of options.
It would be great if Amazon could offer this in a smaller than 12 pack however - to me, that's a humongous amount to purchase at once of one particular style. (Unless you have a house full of girls maybe? ...)

Comment: Given the description provided I was not sure how thin these pads would be. They are as thin as the ultra thin pads from Kotex and other brands. My only problem with them was that they did not held in place as well as the other brands did.
