Summary: Mine isn't accurate
Comment: Considering it is used to gain precision cuts, it would be nice if it was accurate. Mine off by a degree or so. If I put it at 0 degrees on the single cut(which is really 90 degrees) the miter cut should be at 45 degrees, and it isn't. More like 44 degrees. There is no way to adjust the stickers/plates that mark these angles. Not a major deal, but I bought it to gain as much accuracy as possible, so that doesn't help. That being said, this really is a must have tool for a miter saw. I would recommend considering the larger one they sell for base trim. I have found that this nice little one helps a lot, but most of the time on base trim I am using it on drywall corners... and that means corner bead, and that means the first six inches or so, is really off due to the mudd used to taper and hide the corner bead. Which means that if you have this little guy, you are usually just measuring the most screwed up part of the wall. I think the larger one would get past this spot by getting a longer reach on determining the angle. But if you go to big, you can't get into the small spots... Just something to consider...
If mine was accurate, I would gladly give it 5 stars. I didn't even notice mine was off for a long time.. It got me really close to perfect!

Comment: This tool is devilishly simple and accurate. It will cut time and wasted material when you measure and cut molding. The tool gets the precise angle and tells you how to set the miter saw. Perfect angles the first time! No more "trial cuts" that have to be tweeked to fit. The 7" model fits in the toolbox and is worth the cost. The 12" may not fit in tight corners but is identical to the 7" protractor. It is solidly constructed from aluminum and will last a long time in a tough construction environment.

Comment: This is something I've been looking for, a long time! What could be better than checking the angle, and then seeing the angle needed for the cut! Excellent buy !

Comment: Overall, a very good product. Easy to use and easy to read scales. Would be better if one of the legs was offset so that both legs would sit flat to the surface during use rather than having to keep pressure on the one leg to keep tool from rocking over.

Takes error-prone calculations out of the process of miter cuts to ensure perfect miter joints every time! Simply set your miter saw to the angle that you read. Upside down or backwards, the reading is always correct. Features two scales: red scale and arrow show the angle for a miter joint, while the black arrow and scale provide the angle to fit a single workpiece to an angle.
