Summary: What on earth were the negative reviewers talking about?
Comment: What are the negative reviewers talking about? This game is great! One of the one star reviewers said that, "...you never get to actually attack any of your enemies." That's not true! All that guy wanted was real time fighting. This is a strategy-RPG game, NOT a fighting game. That reviewer also said that the half the game is watching characters talk. That's also not true. This game actually most of your time spent fighting. Unless you're an expert player. Watching the characters talk is actually quite interesting if you like story-lines at all. The story behind the game will overcome the reading involved.
Another one star reviewer said, "Fire Emblem is too hyped..." What was that?! I have heard hardly any hype about this Fire Emblem, or any newer Fire Emblem. That same reviewer said that the game is nothing like any of the other strategy RPGs he had played. Well, it's not supposed to be the same, right? This reviewer says also, that the chance to lose a unit forever is not fun. No, it's not fun. But at least it makes the game challenging! And besides, you know that you've done the level correctly if none of your units die! This guy must have been insane! This guy said, "...if your units don't level up, tough. They won't survive on the battlefield." Anyone should be smart enough to know to let weaker characters finish off enemies for more experience, but let the stronger units soften them up.
Leveling up: In Fire Emblem, the enemies get stronger as you go along. So the characters have to get stronger as you go along. For this to happen, you finish off enemies or survive a battle. Once you have done that, you earn a certain amount of experience points depending on the enemy and your average strength compared to that enemies' strength. Once you gain one hundred points, you level up. This can cause a random advancement in stats. So, spread out who gets exp.
A two star reviewer who is a fan of Fire Emblem said it wasn't as good as the GBA Fire Emblems. Is a sequel EVER as good as the original? No. (Then again, there were 7 releases in Japan before we ever got one. How much are we missing out on?) :) This reviewer also stated that the story and characters weren't that good. He person is TOO used to really good story-lines and characters. Sorry for him. He also wrote that the story had too many loose ends. There's a sequel...
The three star reviewer stated too not expect a relive of FF Tactics. Once again. It's not supposed to be the same, is it?? The game is NOT based around who is stronger or has the better weapon. I can say THAT from experience. Because my little sister of 10 years of age loses if she doesn't add in strategy. However, this makes the game pretty challenging. Too challenging for the majority of gamers. I'm gonna have to let one star go.
All in all, this is one of the games that needs to be in any gamers shelf. The game is too high in quality, and has too great of a story to miss out on. Your friend in gaming,
CPU12 The Nintendo Freak
Good Luck.

Summary: A Fantastic epic!
Comment: This has got be one of the best games out there for the gamecube. The combat is simple and easy to learn, yet later on it soon get,s very complicated and fun at the same time. About 3% of the story is done through cinematic cutscenes and the voice acting is good. The graphics are beautiful and colerful and look great. everything also sounds good too. The story is showstopping and full of surprises and in terms of epic it can be compared to lord of the rings. Overall 10 out of 10!

Summary: Listen to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment: Ok, I will start by saying this is hard but it rocks! The good: Fire emblem is a fun strategic game that challenges you tests your skills.
It also is fun to challenge yourself in replay. The bad: Once a troop dies he is gone forever. You also have to be careful training soldiers. One example is that on my first go, I had to restart because I didn't train Ike. There is more good stuff in this game then I can remember so buy this and you won't regret it.

Summary: Fire Emblem- Exciting and Patient Tactical Game
Comment: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, a turn-based tactics game for the Game Cube, is about a young mercenary, Ike, who becomes entangled in a series of conflicts between the waring nations of Crimea and Daein. For newcomers, the entire series of Fire Emblem is a game that requires immense patience, strategy, and often, luck. From these factors alone, it's a niche game.

The game is roughly 30 chapters long. The gameplay is a combination of chess and an RPG; players will improve their stats through battling. Each individual skirmish relies heavily on the character's equipped weapon as well, due to a weapons triangle (Sword > Axe, Axe > Lance, Lance > Sword). Additionally, there are a variety of skills that your army members can equip to bolster their abilities.

I'd like to address one of the largest concerns with Fire Emblem in general- permanent character deaths. There are no revives in this game. If your character dies mid-chapter, you can start over from the chapter beginning OR continue along without him ever again. Sometimes this results from surprise attacks, a moment of carelessness, or pure bad luck. Those who do not have the patience to try and try again should not play this game.

Overall, the game is a 9/10. There is no denying that watching a character die is immensely frustrating, but that factor makes the battle system legitimately challenging and realistic. Fire Emblem challenges the gamers' mental capabilities and stamina, and I fully recommend it to those who are looking for such a challenge.

Summary: The BEST Fire Emblem!
Comment: I don't know why this does not have 5 stars as the overal rating! Path of Radiance is fantastic!!!
1: The charecters names are atleast sane unlike many of the other charecters in Fire Emblems.

2: The charecters are also different from eachother and interesting!

3: The storyline has much more to it than the others as well! I never get board or try hard to get to the fighting sequences like I did in Sacred Stones.

If you have any interest in games, get this one it will definately be among your top 5!

Editorial Reviews:

Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance leads you into the life of a young soldier who'll become a hero, in a world filled with political unrest and class struggle. Ike is inexperienced and untested, but he'll rise to the challenges he faces while the country of Daein invades the nation of Crimea. To make things more difficult, a new race called the laguz are aiding you in battle -- but humans and laguz don't trust each other, even though they fight together. It's a difficult time, filled with obstacles and dangers. Lead your mercenaries to victory and bring them back alive, in this challenging strategy epic. Work to form a bond with other units - talk with them after each battle to gain support Use the laguz to transform into animal forms and dole out fierce attacks
