Summary: Great source for fashionable patterns
Comment: I love this magazine. While the subscription price seems costly, using only one pattern from each issue makes it worth while. The patterns are very well cut, the styles wonderful. There are patterns patterns for beginners to advanced sewers.

Summary: Go Burda!
Comment: I've been sewing since I am 16 years old. When I discovered Burda Moden, I was extremely thrilled. Till this day I've been subscribing to Burda magazine and every month cannot wait to receive the next issue. I find this magazine up to date most of the time as far as the fashion. The patterns are very accurate, sometimes require minor adjustments. If you're a vivid tailor or just interested to make some cloths for yourself here and there, Burda mode is the best magazine you can wish for. It offers a great variety of styles, beginning with ones that are moderately difficult to make and ending with a very easy, beginner like. Even if you do not sew, Burda magazine is just interesting to have since it often offers great advises for women as far as cosmetics, food recipes, health and other subjects. You'll never regret that you've discovered such a great read as Burda Moden.

Comment: I can't review it, because I still didn't recieve it. I think is shame to take my money and wait for months get my magazine. Now is it month, and nothing. Event if it comes from Germany, mail don't take that long.

Comment: When I was ordering I was hoping I ordered the English language version! There seems to be a couple versions of the Burda, I ordered Burda World of Fasion coming from Englewood NJ, yes in English. What you will find inside is a complete list with pictures of the contents of the current issue, then larger pictures with small descriptions with fabric and accessory info follows. Inbetween the larger photos in the issue you will find 1)Burda Instructions on how to procede to use the enclosed pattern pieces, 2)another set of black and white drawings of the garments with sizes it is patterned for, as well as the page where the large photo is and the number of the pattern to find it in the mass of pattern pieces. Make sure you have some form of tracing material as you will most likely not want to cut them from the mass, since they overlap (they are color coded-tracing will be easy) 3)instructions on how to construct the pieces for the garment 4)sizing info to convert from your size to burda size- very easily has both inches and cm in chart.
I have received the May 07 issue which contains the following ensembles with the number of pieces: Yachtclub look (2 skirt, 2 pant, 7 top), nude look (not nude-or whats the point of sewing...just light in color)(1 dress, 4 top and 4 skirt), trendy color brown(1 dress, 1 pant, 1 skirt, 3 top), top label (1 jacket, 1 pant), catwork (1 skirt, 1 top), plus fashion (1 dress, 1 jacket, 2 top, 1 skirt, 1 pant), dresses (11), childrens fashion (2 skirts, 2 top), fashion idea (1 scarf). (actually the pattern info says there are a total of 5 jackets, so some of those tops must be jackets)
Although this mag is not American fashion per se, it contains garments to make that Americans would and do wear.
I ordered this on Feb 28, 2007 and received it May 7, 2007. I didn't mind because I used a coupon from Amazon, and got it at 25$ less! This is the second mag I have ordered from Amazon.
