Summary: Harvey a funny heart warming movie, truly a classic
Comment: I watched this movie with my son (who is 24 years old) and his friend. We all were laughing all the way through the movie and it was a great movie with a mixture of comedy and a heart warming feel. It was great for all, even my son who had never even heard of the movie. James Stewart was great.

Summary: "He's a pooka!"
Comment: James Stewart is excellent in the role of Elwood P. Dowd. Harvey comes to life in this film version of Mary Chase's play, Harvey and brings with him a valuable lesson on acceptance and what true happiness is.

Summary: Wonderful movie
Comment: This is one of my favorite movies ever. Elwood Dowd is like a child in many ways, sees the good in everybody. It's kind of like Harvey is his guardian angel. Any movie that James Stewart is in is among the best.

Summary: Gotta Love Jimmy
Comment: Oh wow! I have been looking for this DVD for a long time. I LOVE this movie. Jimmy at his best. It is an old movie but still a great one. You will not regret watching it. So Funny!!!

Summary: Harvey
Comment: One comment, I'm not sure Harvey was imaginary, I know several people who swear they've seen him. Evidently he is a friend to rumpots. Stewart himself said people, usually men, looking a little down on their luck, asked him about Harvey for years!

Editorial Reviews:

It's always a small surprise to revisit this movie and realize what a subtly dark performance James Stewart gives as an alcoholic who claims he keeps company with a six-foot-tall, invisible rabbit. As Elwood P. Dowd, the actor emits a faint whiff of decay and spirits, yet Stewart also embraces Dowd's romanticism and grace with splendid ease. Based on a hit play and directed by Henry Koster, the film is terribly funny at times, especially whenever Elwood decides it's only polite to introduce Harvey to complete strangers. The supporting cast can't be beat. --Tom Keogh
