(PRWEB) August 12, 2005 -- The Western Australian Government has conducted a tender exercise for the operation of air services in Western Australia. In a Media Statement issued on the 10th of August 2005 by the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure the Minister advised that Skywest had been selected to exclusively operate air services to the Coastal Network of Western Australia.

The Western Australian Coastal Network Comprises:
Perth to
Albany
Carnarvon
Esperance
Exmouth (Learmonth)
Geraldton
Kalbarri
Shark Bay (Monkey Mia)

The decision expands Skywest’s current network with increased frequency levels, furthermore it provides for the two additional ports of Shark Bay and Kalbarri.

The exclusive license is for up to five years, which is comprised of an initial three years from December 2005, with the option of a further two year extension.
