www.HomelandSecurityStocks.com Reports Preliminary Results on GE ION TRACK’S Entryscan³ Transportation Passenger Security Screening Pilot Program
www.HomelandSecurityStocks.com and www.HomelandSecurityStocks.us updated their reports on General Electric (GE) Homeland Security and Homeland Defense products with news of preliminary results from the TRIP program conducted with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), AMTRAK and the Department of Transportation.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2004 -- In a follow up to our recent report on
GE Ion Track's Entryscan³ pilot TRIP Transit and Rail Inspection Pilot program,
http://www.homelandsecuritystocks.com/HSSSPOTLIGHTSTOCKS.html
http://www.homelandsecuritystocks.us/spotlight/ it appears
that preliminary results from evaluating the use of GE's Entryscan³ to screen
passengers in a non-climate controlled environment were highly encouraging.
Highlights include:
· Entryscan³ receiving wide public
acceptance due to its ease of use and passenger friendliness
· Effective operation in difficult non-climate controlled
environments.
Further pilot program tests for Entryscan³ are being
implemented at airports in Warwick RI and Greater Rochester International in New
York. It appears that Entryscan³ has actual real world utility in applications
ranging from mass transit to airports and border security.
Entryscan³ is
a high-throughput, non-intrusive, walk-through explosives detection portal
designed to detect explosives concealed on the body of terrorists attempting to
defeat checkpoint security. When an individual walks through the Entryscan³ --
which appears similar to a walk through metal detector -- the detector "sniffs"
the air around the individual for airborne "signatures" of explosives.
This year’s Madrid train bombings have pointed up a glaring hole in
Homeland Security planning -- the total absence of any ability to screen large
numbers of rail transit passengers for explosives. Screening rail transit
passengers presents enormous problems. The screening method has to be
non-intrusive, reliable, effective, and extremely rapid so as not to disrupt
passenger flow.
There are clear applications for this technology in
border security, port security, airline and airport security, transit security,
rail security, nuclear and chemical plant security, securing government and
corporate facilities, sporting events such as the Super Bowl, World Series and
Olympics.
