The companies agreed to integrate
their respective product lines in pursuit of customers in the electric, gas,
cable, telecommunications and petroleum exploration markets that seek advanced,
bundled solutions for automating information transfer between the office and
field crews to improve service fleet management. Under terms of the partnership,
har*GIS will configure and deliver its TruckMap*™ Field Information System to
the client, while Mentor Engineering Inc. provides advanced, ruggedized mobile
hardware platforms for running the Truck*Map software.
Field Information
Systems improve operations by automating the flow of data to and from the field
and eliminating the paper-based business processes performed by field crews
today. TruckMap* mobilizes large amounts of geospatial and tabular data from
enterprise databases and moves it into a common computing environment for use by
field crews. With TruckMap*, field tasks in support of multiple vertical
applications can now be performed on the Stryder hardware, Mentor Engineering’s
rugged Windows CE.net handheld computer.
