KUA Wins Regional Innovation Award
Kissimmee Utility Authority was honored by the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission as a recipient of the 2005 William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award.
KISSIMMEE, Fla., (PRWEB) September 15, 2005 -- Kissimmee Utility Authority
(KUA) on Sept. 14 was honored by the Metro Orlando Economic Development
Commission as the Osceola County recipient of the 2005 William C. Schwartz
Industry Innovation Award.
The award honors one company or individual in
each Central Florida county who has successfully created, developed and
implemented creative products and ideas. Successful innovation is one of the
driving forces behind expanding and diversifying the economy.
KUA was
recognized for its launch of a variety of services including speech-enabled,
self-service software for telephone bill payment, live online customer chat to
reduce hold times, text messaging to communicate power outages and a new Wi-Fi
network that provides free Internet access to residents and businesses in
downtown Kissimmee.
KUA was also singled out for its innovative
partnerships which allow the utility to offer additional services like telephone
and home security services.

marketplace that improve customer satisfaction, retention and
loyalty."
