New York, NY (PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- "We service the most important people
in the world...babies" says Lynda Fassa, a former Ford model and co-owner and
designer for Westchester NY based Green Babies, Inc., a maker of premium
certified organic cotton clothes for babies and kids.
"We make very cool,
comfortable, attention-getting clothes, out of the finest fiber in the world,
organic cotton" says Fassa. "We are thrilled to showcase our bestsellers in
Whole Foods Market's Columbus Circle location. Our style with ethics should have
terrific appeal to the savvy Upper West side shopper."
Founded in 1980 in
Austin, Texas, Whole Foods Market (www.wholefoodsmarket.com) is the world’s leading natural and
organic foods supermarket and America’s first national certified organic grocer.
In fiscal year 2004, the company had sales of $3.9 billion and currently has
more than 165 stores in the United State, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The
Whole Foods Market motto, “Whole Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet”™ captures
the company’s mission to find success in customer satisfaction and wellness,
employee excellence and happiness, enhanced shareholder value, community support
and environmental improvement. Whole Foods Market, Harry’s Farmers Market®, and
Fresh & Wild® are trademarks owned by Whole Foods Market IP, LP. Whole Foods
Market employs more than 32,000 team members and has been ranked for seven
consecutive years as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for” in America by
Fortune magazine.
One of the oldest existing companies to work with
organic fiber, for
over 11 years, Green Babies has offered the world's
largest selection of organic cotton clothes for babies and kids, over 70 styles
a season and they make it all in the US, production is in New York City and the
cutting room is a converted firestation in Tarrytown, NY. up the street from the
Fassas home where they raise their three daughters.
Green Babies counts
among its celebrity clients, Sandra Bullock,
Gwyneth Paltrow, Vanessa
Williams, Jon Bon Jovi and Catherine Denueve.
"I started the business
right after I left modeling to have my first
baby--I knew organic was
important for babies, I only bought Earth's
Best baby food, and when I found
out cotton is the second most pesticide laden crop in the world, and number one
in America, I was amazed--and I thought other people would be, too." Lynda
partners in the business with her husband, Hossein, a theater director who
formerly ran The Stella Adler Conservatory in Manhattan.
"I'm a
conceptualist and he's a real stickler for quality--a perfectionist--so it makes
the clothes better"
"People think it was a major change to move from
modeling and theater to the organic lifestyle we have now, but it really
isn't--cool baby clothes are still fashion--the little people are so wonderful
and gorgeous they're like movie stars--and there's lots of drama in what we do"
says Fassa.

Patch Cardigan
