Nextlife Recycling Alliance Adds Industry Leader Sweed Machinery as a Core Member
Organization now includes world’s largest scrap chopper, stretch film and retail bag manufacturers.
(PRWEB) November 10, 2004 -- Sun Valley Worldwide, a premier global recycling
and environmental services company, and the founding member of NextLife™, a
recycling cooperative of industry leaders, announced that it has confirmed that
Sweed Machinery, Inc. of Gold Hill, Oregon, the world’s largest manufacturer of
scrap choppers has joined the NextLife alliance. Sweed joins two other “world’s
largest” alliance members, Vanguard Plastics of Dallas, Texas, the world’s
largest manufacturer of retail and grocery bags, and Sigma Stretch Film Corp. of
Lyndhurst, New Jersey, the world’s largest manufacturer of stretch film. The
alliance now boasts three world industry leaders as Charter and Contributing
Members. The alliance, called NextLife™, is designed to promote the recycling of
multiple waste streams including stretch film, grocery bags, plastic strapping,
cardboard, metals, textiles and electronics each year, which may have otherwise
filled our landfills.
The NextLife™ program is unique because it
provides the end users of recyclable material with a convenient, consistent and
cost-effective channel for recycling. Even more importantly, NextLife™ provides
end users of recyclable material with a single recycling partner for virtually
all types of recyclable material. The need to constantly seek new buyers for
different materials and deal with seasonal or inconsistent buyers is eliminated.
Under the agreement, Sweed will market and promote the program to its
sales force, distributors and customers throughout North America, while Sun
Valley will purchase the materials and recycle them into new “recycle grade”
resins to produce recycled products.
Curt Spivey, Vice President of Sales
and Marketing for Sweed Machinery, understands the impact that NextLife™ will
make on the way companies look at recycling altogether. “We get calls every day
from customers who do not have an outlet for chopped strapping. A single
recycling program that can consolidate and coordinate the collection of multiple
waste streams on a national basis is invaluable and until now, unavailable.
NextLife™ will allow companies to rethink their recycling strategies with a new
sense of participation, accomplishment and profitability. We know the value
NextLife™ brings to our customers, our company and our industry. We are honored
and enthusiastic to be a part of this major initiative.”
Daniel Schrager,
President of Sun Valley Worldwide, recognizes the impact of Sweed’s
participation in the NextLife™ alliance. “With Sweed participating and promoting
the NextLife™ recycling program, our alliance gains access to virtually every
distribution center in North America. The immediate exposure will create
awareness, and coupled with the unique and valuable service of NextLife™, will
allow us to make an impact much faster.”
