Global Institute of Logistics Joins Advisory Board at Platinum Television
The Global Institute of Logistics has joined the Advisory Board at Platinum Television as guest expert for the forthcoming special episodes of ‘Business and Beyond’ and ‘Eye on Technology’ on the development of third party logistics
(PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- The Global Institute of Logistics is pleased to
announce that it has accepted an invitation to join the Advisory Board at
Platinum Television. The Institute joins distinguished voices in the business
field, including Harvard Business School, MIT and Forbes Magazine, that have
acted as Guest Experts in the production and presentation of Platinum
Television’s ground breaking and educational programming.
In line with
its policy of reporting on cutting edge developments in business, Platinum is
currently producing special episodes of its ‘Business And Beyond’ and ‘Eye On
Technology’ series on the science of logistics. The five part series will focus
on the effects of third party logistics on the American Economy. The program
aims to educate viewers about understanding and interpreting the development of
the third party logistics sector. It will present an overview of the benefits of
outsourcing in particular the outsourcing of complex or fragmented supply
chains. The special series on logistics will reflect ‘Total Integration’, the
customized integration of the total supply chain where the standards applied
must reflect lower delivery and build costs and higher sales.
Speaking at
the announcement of the Institute’s appointment to the Advisory Board, Kieran F.
Ring, Chief Executive at the Institute said:
“I am delighted to accept
Platinum’s invitation on behalf of the Global Institute of Logistics to join its
Advisory Board for the forthcoming series on Third Party Logistics and the
impact of its development on the national economy.
This announcement
complements the Institutes core objective, which is to catapult the science of
logistics to the top of the business agenda between now and
2006.
Parallel to the Institute’s motivations, the series aims to raise
the profile of logistics by tackling uncertainties and misunderstandings in the
workings of the supply chain and to establish and explore the numerous benefits
of outsourcing, the most important of which is saving on cost.”
Doug
Scott, CEO of Platinum Television, added:
"It appears that the subject of
Third Party Logistics has received a lack of media attention. We are proud to
produce a series that will heighten awareness about this important
industry."
