Houston, Texas – September 28th, 2004 – Burlington Coat Factory and
Compliance Networks announced today they will jointly present a featured case
study on the value of vendor compliance at the upcoming Council of Logistics
Management Conference in Philadelphia on October 5-7th.
The presentation
will center on the value Burlington Coat Factory has generated through a best in
class vendor compliance process.
Prior to implementing their program,
Burlington Coat Factory experienced key issues such as improper merchandise
packing, misprinted packing slips, improper style, size, color, and late
shipments. “The problems we were experiencing prior to our process improvement
were immense, both logistically and financially” says Al Soltanian, Project
Manager for Burlington Coat Factory. “Our process improvement has substantially
optimized the flow of merchandise through our distribution operations and
provided us with unprecedented levels of collaboration between our vendors,
merchants and distribution personnel. We are excited about sharing our results
with our colleagues at this years CLM conference.” Burlington Coat Factory will
have a good story to tell at CLM this year says Kevin Harris, Compliance
Networks’ Project Manager for Burlington Coat Factory, "Burlington Coat Factory
has long been recognized as a progressive retailer that uses innovative
technology to optimize execution of their merchandising plan and to improve
store sales. The successful application of the Compliance Management Solution at
BCF is another example of their ongoing performance improvement philosophy."
The 2004 CLM Annual conference will be held at Philadelphia Convention
Center October 5th – 7th. For more information on the conference, please visit
