Burlington Coat Factory First to Benefit from Little Rock Company’s Partnership with Houston-based Compliance Networks

LITTLE ROCK, AK (PRWEB) August 24, 2004 -- Mainstream Technologies, Inc., a
Little Rock, Arkansas-based technology company, today announced the completed
development of the new Retail Distribution Management Solution (rDMS) which it
co-developed with Houston-based Compliance Networks.
rDMS is a new
product offering in the Warehouse Management arena tailored to the retail flow
distribution model. rDMS fully supports the activities of central distribution
centers, third party logistics providers and store receiving operations in both
direct-to-store and central distribution models. rDMS also fully supports pre-
and post-distributed purchasing models. The design emphasis on retail-centric
supply chains yields superior support for vendor performance verification,
floor-ready service support and same-platform integrated store receiving
functionality; in short, a single-source view of the retail logistics
organization.
“Traditional, ‘off the shelf’ warehouse solutions are
costing retailers millions of dollars due to their inflexibility,” said John
Burgess, President of Mainstream Technologies, Inc. “Unlike traditional models,
we designed the rDMS software to respond to the changing needs of the retail
enterprise, not ask the enterprise to adapt to meet the needs of the software.”
rDMS is built on an open source platform which results in faster, less
disruptive and therefore less expensive implementations. DMS uses a
best-practices process model and a best-of-breed exception
detection/notification/resolution facility to leverage advance shipment
information and optimize the retailer’s investment in centralized distribution
capacity.
“We are pleased to have Mainstream Technologies as a
development partner,” noted Greg Holder, President of Compliance Networks.
“Their technical expertise and deep experience in and understanding of the
retail business process made them the only choice for co-development of
rDMS.”
One of the first retailers to leverage the
power of rDMS is Burlington Coat Factory, a national retailer of clothing,
footwear, and accessories. “After extensive research and comparisons of some of
the traditional warehouse management solutions, we concluded that none of them
provided us with the cost-effective, user-friendly system we found with rDMS,”
said Dave Sanford, Vice President of Distribution Services at Burlington Coat
Factory. “Traditional solutions depend on a “pull” environment which did not
provide any more functionality than our current legacy system. The Compliance
Networks/Mainstream Technologies solution goes beyond the normal WMS boundaries
with a retail-centric architecture allowing us to manage our entire enterprise.
This additional functionality supports our “push” environment and is expected to
dramatically reduce our inventory cycle times increasing our performance from
both cost and service level perspectives.”
