United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland, Inc. launches Internet radio talk show, "Demystifying Non-Profits" on www.globaltalkradio.com
Demystifying Non-Profits is a new Internet radio talk show, hosted by Celeste Terry, Saturday's at 3PM (EDT) on www.globaltalkradio.com -- LIVE!
The 1-hour, weekly Internet radio talk show is devoted to information and
guests related to the non-profit sector. The show was created to teach people
the "how to" in creating programs as an alternative to for-profit business.
Also, the show will feature celebrities with foundations, and the philanthropic
work they are involved in.
Demystifying Non-Profits was launched on May
21, 2005, and subsequent shows are archieved by Episode/date, and are available
for convenient listening on-demand anytime, 24 hours, 7 days per week by
visiting www.globaltalkradio.com.
Available shows feature a
philanthropist that founded a program after her 13-year old daughter was
murdered in 1984, a stand-up comic that created a comedy training workshop for
youth, a public relations specialist that provided in-side tips about media buys
that non-profits must know about, a founder of a foundation that will celebrate
it's 25th Anniversary in 2006, and in-depth discussion of the components of a
proposal, i.e., grant writing, strategic planning, and budgeting.
Tune in
to hear, Dr. Gwendolyn Goldsby Grant, Lisa Nichols (of the Chicken Soup for the
Soul franchise), and Dr. Angela Neal-Barnett, noted expert on depression and
anxiety, as well as learn about the fascinating world of non-profits, and the
people that make things happen.
Internet radio, and specifically the show,
Demystifying Non-Profits, helps educate people on the importance and need for
non-profit programs. But, more importantly, the show tells people "how to"
create programs as an alternative to for-profit business, and learn that many of
the needed skills to run a non-profit are identical to what is needed to run a
for-profit enterprise.
The United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland, Inc.
was founded in 1981. Currently, 85 agencies are funded at over $670,000.00
annually in Cuyahoga County.
