American Strategies Names Kari E. Lynch as Director of Fundraising
American Strategies is a national political strategy, public policy, government affairs and public relations firm operated by Brett A. Sciotto and Thomas J. Ratcliff, both of whom are West Point graduates and former Army officers. American Strategies' mission is to keep our nation strong by helping leaders of character successfully navigate dynamic political and business environments while making a positive change for their communities and our country.
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) January 15, 2005 -- American Strategies President &
CEO Brett A. Sciotto announced that Kari E. Lynch has been named as the firm’s
director of fundraising.
Until recently, Ms. Lynch operated her own
highly successful fundraising company. Since beginning her fundraising career in
1996, Lynch has worked with 16 different candidates, committees and
organizations. She has raised more than $5.7 million directly and assisted in
raising another $7.1 million over the last nine years.
“We welcome Kari
to the American Strategies team. We continue to expand our capabilities by
investing in people like Kari who have the vision, talent and leadership to
provide our candidates and officeholders with the counsel they require to
navigate the political environment and to govern effectively,” said Sciotto.
Prior to launching her own company as an independent fundraiser in 2002,
Lynch served as Finance Director of the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) under
Chairman Robert T. Bennett. During her tenure with the ORP, Lynch organized and
planned all major state party events, implemented an annual finance plan of more
than $5 million, raised money for statewide candidates, managed a finance staff
and taught at campaign schools across Ohio.
From 1996 until early 2001,
Lynch served on Governor Bob Taft’s fundraising, finance and political teams.
She assisted in planning, organizing and staffing fundraising events; managed an
extensive finance database; drafted and submitted campaign finance reports to
Ohio’s Secretary of State; planned and organized events at the Governor’s
residence; served as a surrogate for Governor Taft at numerous events; and
worked with party leaders across the state on grassroots
campaigning.
During the 2000 presidential
election cycle, Lynch served as then-Governor George W. Bush’s political
director for Ohio during the primary election season. Thereafter, she assisted
Congressman Pat Tiberi’s 2000 campaign committee as its treasurer.
Lynch
has also raised funds for State Senator Steve Stivers, State Representative Tom
Niehaus, the Franklin County Republican Party and many other
notables.
“There is clearly a demand for ethical and honorable
fundraising across the nation, and many of our clients have asked us to assume a
measure of command and control over an area that has, at times, been somewhat
devoid of individuals with high moral fiber who—first and foremost—desire a
better America, not bolstering their own bank account,” said American Strategies
Partner & COO Thomas J. Ratcliff. “Brett and I believe that funds can and
should be raised by willing participants in the political or non-profit arenas,
not through coercion, intimidation or personal profiteering.”
Lynch was
appointed to serve on the Village of Ashville Council in 1996, where she chaired
the Parks and Recreation Committee and also served on the Safety Committee. She
is a graduate of Otterbein College, where she served as a member of the student
senate and as president of the Tau Delta sorority.
Originally from
Ashville, Ohio, Lynch currently resides in Reynoldsburg.
