London Terrorists Attempted Attacks - Where and Who is Next? How Can We Stop the Terrorists?
London seems to be the front line of fire with terrorists who have been incubating in the Middle East for decades. The London bombings show there has been a major shift in their positioning to the heart of Europe. The burning questions is: Now that we know they are living among us how can we stop them?

terrorists who have been incubating in the Middle East for decades. The London
bombings show there has been a major shift in their positioning to the heart of
Europe. The burning questions is: Now that we know they are living among us how
can we stop them?
There are many elements to consider: We can’t fight
someone whose strategy we do not know. The UK Government, as well as other
governments, needs to fight terrorism in its own way. Terrorists preach hate.
They can only continue to proliferate if they have followers.
First:
Undo the brain washing of their followers. The strategy is simple: No followers
= No suicide bombing. The civilized world must identify reputable mullahs who
are willing to condemn terrorists and announce that whoever follows terrorism
will be shunned from the Muslim community. Most terrorists do not know that
their radical leaders are actually preaching against the tenets of Islam. All
mullahs are not the same but too many fear the potential consequences of
denouncing terrorism.
Second: Shun all the radical mullahs. Get them out
of the mosques so they cannot attend and preach. Higher Muslim authority must
strip them of their power. We must throw them out of the country and out of our
communities where they preach hate to the youth.
Third: Move on with our
lives. A great philosophy, but I caution people that they must keep the past two
weeks in the back of their mind. They should move on but they also must be
vigilant. Dedicated terrorists have the advantage of being fearless, even as
they wreak havoc with transit bombing for the purpose of creating fear. People
must be vigilant but calm and use common sense and caution. The best way to stop
the terrorists is for people to know their neighbors and create a neighborhood
watch program. If they see suspicious people in their neighborhood or their
family, they must let the police and authorities know. No matter how many police
are on the streets, they cannot be everywhere at once.
People need to
understand that the terrorist's war is not only against governments but also
against people. It is people who were killed in New York on 9/11 and in London
on 7/7. It is up to people to have the will to stop them.
Lastly: Media
plays a great role in the fight against terrorism. The problem is: they cover
the attacks non-stop for two days, until people are numbed, then drop it favor
of the next celebrity gossip until the next attack. This is a bad marketing plan
that helps the terrorists. People need to be repeatedly but less intensely
reminded of the horrors of terrorism. If we don’t keep people aware, this gives
terrorists an opportunity to strike again, closer to home.
