A military video shows killing of injured Iraqi's, violating international law.

(PRWEB)May 10, 2004-
A website, "www.gulfwarrior.org" has released a video that was found on the internet of an Apache helicopter killing three men, some trucks and a farm tractor during the Iraqi occupation. The "engagement" of the soldiers and subsequent death of the three Iraqi's was part of the US invasion of Iraq. This video shows absolute cruelty in killing an injured soldier of war, not to mention having no honor to the fallen enemy.

The video was first described on a British website on the 14th January and was broadcast on some European channels. It is not certain when the event took place but it is believed it is from the current Iraqi occupation. One US broadcaster has shown parts of the film but no media outlet so far has shown the entire video due to it's nature.

In the video two soldiers and a farmer are killed from an Apache helicopter gunship. Yes, the Apache helicopter shoots a man running from a farm tractor first, then shoots the farm tractor and another man. Then the a third man is shot as he hides underneath a truck. Then, as he crawls out, visibly injured and alone, the helicopter shoots 30mm explosive rounds into the injured soldier.

Why did this happen? The Hague convention says injured are supposed to be taken prisoner. The Geneva convention says your then supposed to keep injured soldiers in good state and also not destroy items that are essential to the survival of a people.

Judge for yourself and watch the video. Hindsight is always 20/20 but we find no excuse for butchering ANY people in wartime. The video shows what many consider cold blooded murder.

Some of the comments in the video we found disgusting that you can hear in the audio of the footage: Command asks "Are you sure it was a weapon?" Helicopter responds, "Positive." We ask, how could the pilot or gunner KNOW the object was a weapon?

Then after shooting a man hiding underneath a truck, the gunner responds: "Roger, he is injured."
Someone, either the pilot or command reply "hit him" and the helicopter shoots into the injured man, blowing him to pieces.

FYI- The 30mm gun used to kill these Iraqi's has an explosive round that is has 112,160 joules of kinetic energy, that is equal to 180 times the energy of a .45 caliber bullet. Imagine being shot at by 180 people aiming at you, all at the same time. That is the energy from just one of these rounds.

Keep in mind a .45 caliber bullet weighs 15 grams. We have each of these 30mm rounds weighing 350 grams and traveling at 800 meters per second.
And the video show that 20 of these rounds were used to blow up the injured person (and 92 rounds used to damage the vehicles and kill all three people).

Gulfwarrior.org is a historical website of the events of Iraq including the gulf war in 1991.
The website attempts to document the facts of the gulf war and the current occupation of Iraq. The website works with veterans to document the history of these events. Anyone with film, pictures or written history is encouraged to submit it to our website. We also work with the veterans history group to document the many details of these events so that the future generations can learn from these events that alter so many peoples lives.

A story of the leaked video is found here. The video was shown in Europe but now a station in Los Angeles will show it next week in a special on Iraq.
