RESTON, VA (PRWEB) September 30, 2004 -- Marissa Levin, Founder and CEO of
Information Experts, has been named as a Finalist in three categories for the
2004 Stevie Awards. The categories are: Best Entrepreneur - Service Businesses;
Employer of the Year; and the Women Helping Women Award.
The Stevie
Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, www.stevieawards/women, is a national awards
competition recognizing the accomplishments of women small business owners in
the United States. The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious
American Business Awards, hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars” by the New
York Post.
More than 600 nominations from small companies in virtually
every industry were submitted for consideration in 18 categories. Levin was one
of only a few individuals to receive as many as 3 Finalist
nominations.
Winners will be announced on Friday, October 22 at the
Marriott Marquis in New York City’s Times Square. The master of ceremonies will
be Bill Rancic, spokesperson for Advanta, which is sponsoring the awards, and
winner of the hit television show “The Apprentice.”
The Stevie Awards for
Women Entrepreneurs are governed by a board of Distinguished Judges &
Advisors that features many leading women entrepreneurs and luminaries in
American business, including Carrie Fitzmaurice, publisher for Entrepreneur
Media, Inc.; Dr. Lisa Krinsky, chairman & president for SFBC International;
and Dr. Betty Spence, president of The National Association for Female
Executives. Advanta Corp. (NASDAQ: ADVNB; ADVNA) is the exclusive award sponsor.
“Since we began the Stevie Awards, our goal has been to shine a
spotlight on ordinary businesspeople who accomplish extraordinary things every
work day,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of The Stevie Awards.
“We look forward to honoring the outstanding women entrepreneurs who are
reshaping and re-invigorating the American business landscape.”
Nominations
were rated by scores of business professionals nationwide during a two-month
round of preliminary judging in July and August, and their average scores
determined the Finalists.
“I am thoroughly honored to be named as a
Finalist in three categories for the Steve Awards. My hope is that all business
women understand that they have a tremendous support system behind them, and
that their goals to lead successful businesses without compromising their
personal ambitions and core values are absolutely attainable,” said Levin.
Ms. Levin, a Finalist for the 2002 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the
Year Award and for the 2004 Women in Technology Entrepreneur Leadership Award,
has grown Information Experts steadily since its inception: a spectacular
revenue growth rate from 1995 to 2004, with sales growing from $19K to a
forecast of just under $10 million. For 2005, Marissa is projecting revenues of
$15 million.
