Boulder, CO (PRWEB) September 22, 2004 -- Fascinating Learning Factory,
Boulder’s own resource for exciting, entertaining, educational programming, is
holding their first annual fundraiser, “A Class Act” on Wednesday, September
29th at the Dove House in Lafayette, CO.
Featuring a screening of their
newest show,’ Guerrilla Guide to Politics’, the event will highlight the need
for a higher quality of engaging, smart, educational programming.
Guerrilla Guide is a hip, irreverent, music and graphics filled half
hour that encourages young people to vote and become active citizens in our
unique democracy. It is in wide distribution, airing on PBS and other stations
across the country.
Since the new FCC rules regarding ‘must carry’
children’s programming are taking effect, the Learning Factory is well placed to
provide a steady stream of innovative shows for the middle and high school aged
audience. Shows that will drive viewers to their channels and fulfill more than
just the minimum requirement of hours. The Learning Factory’s programs are fun,
interesting and hipper than the usual dry documentaries that bore our kids. They
can become the ratings leaders in their slots and bring in that hard-to-reach
teenage demographic
Fascinating Learning Factory has garnered support
locally and nationally from educators, parents, and legislators like U.S.
Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, U.S. Representative Mark Udall, US
Representative Jerry Lewis and CO State Senators Terry Phillips and Ron Tupa.
