Property Management Course To Be Offered in Stanislaus County
In response to rapid growth in the property management industry, Community Business College has added a new Property Management course to its Modesto campus.
Modesto, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2005 -- Community Business College (CBC) has
announced the addition of a new curriculum in Property Management at its Modesto
campus. This course is being added in response to a growing need for trained
professionals in the field. The Employment Development Department’s Labor Market
Information Division projects a 27% increase in property management employment
for the years 2002 to 2012. This amounts to 9,600 new jobs, in addition to 1,630
average annual openings.
CBC’s 12-week course addresses the essential
California laws and regulations governing landlord/tenant relations to provide
both theory and practical understanding of property management, including case
studies and the financial analysis of investing in income-producing real estate.
The curriculum will be taught by Mark Dennis, a property manager in California
for more than twenty-five years. Mr. Dennis has worked with several of the
state’s largest property management and investment firms. He is a certified
instructor with the California Apartment Association and the California Bureau
for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.
Along with the core
curriculum of property management, CBC’s program includes the classes necessary
to qualify for taking the state real estate license exam administered by the
California Department of Real Estate. Prior to graduation, students will be
instructed in strategies for this test and given the opportunity to take
practice tests.
Another component of the property management course is
computer software training. Students receive industry-relevant instruction in
the Microsoft Office Suite as well as Internet and e-mail applications. Students
also receive training in property management software by Yardi, the most widely
used software program in the industry.
Community Business College is a
state-licensed, nationally accredited vocational school. The property management
program will also be included in a new hire project which offers state-funded
training for the unemployed to get help to gain skills necessary to re-enter the
work force.
