William Elston, an 18-year specialty, programs and underwriting insurance veteran, has joined MarketStance as Director of Business Development. MarketStance provides market and exposure information and analytical consulting services for the US insurance industry.

as Director of Business Development for the business information and analytical
services firm that specializes in support for the US insurance
industry.
Mr. Elston is an eighteen-year veteran of the property/casualty
insurance industry in personal and specialty lines underwriting and as a
producer with a general agency.
In the newly-created position, Mr.
Elston is responsible for growing revenues and advancing relationships with both
new and existing customers. MarketStance develops database products that are
purpose-built for insurance company applications. The data include information
on commercial property/casualty exposures, by-line premiums, loss ratios,
business demographics and market growth. MarketStance (www.marketstance.com) also
performs custom analytical work for carriers in such areas as distribution
capacity assessment. Mr. Elston will be based in Middletown, Connecticut.
Mr. Elston most recently served with Simsbury-based Chubb Specialty in
financial institution and insurance agents’ E&O underwriting, and in
management. Prior to that role, he was vice president of Elston, Inc. of
Columbia, Maryland, a general agency brokerage for the long haul trucking
industry. He also served as a personal lines underwriter with USF&G
Insurance and Fireman’s Fund Insurance.
A registered professional
liability underwriter (RPLU), Mr. Elston earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at
Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
