Special of the Day - What Is Your Business Specialty?

The Importance of Niche Marketing

Fairless Hills, PA (PRWEB) May 20, 2005 -- Two of my family members own a very successful catering business. They offer the best Thai Rolls I have ever tasted, and I am not just saying that because we are related. In 1995, my brother in law and sister in law opened Thai-Rolls, Incorporated (http://www.thairolls.com). They are the suppliers of fabulous Thai Spring Rolls to Madison Square Garden Executive Suites, among other notable NYC arenas. Brian and Lila do not offer a 10 page varied menu of Thai Cuisine, although they could if they wanted to. They have chosen to specialize in one fabulous area, from a recipe brought to America in 1980 by my sister in law, Lila Sinprasith-Murphy. This has enabled them to focus all of their energy, talent and expertise on this one item rather than dividing their time and energy on multiple items.

The above can hold true for any business if you think about it. Are you spreading yourself too thin, or are you fully focused on your most marketable product and/or service? By shifting your focus and energy to your most marketable service, you become a specialist or expert in your field. You are able to better serve your client and your business if you are an expert. As a small business owner, it is very important to follow this advice on a daily basis. I am confident in the work that I provide to my clients and will outsource if approached for work outside of my niche services.

Believe it or not, narrowing your expertise and selecting a niche market will allow you more growth. Contrary to popular belief it will not hinder your growth. As an expert in your field you will be the person that other look to and trust.

Obviously, Madison Square Garden could have called any upscale restaurant in Manhattan for their Spring Rolls. After tasting Thai Rolls Incorporated, they realized that they had the expert in this area.

This is a win-win situation for the business as well as the consumer. By narrowing your niche services and becoming an expert, you are reducing the cost of advertising allowing your marketing budget to go father. And the consumer is getting the absolute expert in this particular field.
