Pacific Northwest’s Largest Stage Lighting Company Nominated for National Award for Creative Technical Production Excellence
Hollywood Lighting Services, Inc, has been named a finalist in the “Technical Producer of the Year” category for the prestigious 2005 Event Solutions Spotlight Awards.
Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 21, 2005 -- Hollywood Lighting Services, The Pacific
Northwest’s oldest and largest stage and event lighting production company, is a
finalist in one of 16 award categories at the nationally-recognized Eighth
Annual “Event Solutions Spotlight Awards,” which will be presented at an elegant
black-tie gala in Atlanta, GA on August 25th, 2005.
The awards are
sponsored and juried by Event Solutions Magazine, a nationally distributed trade
publication based in Tempe, Arizona. Akin in the events industry to the Grammy
or Academy Awards, the Spotlight Awards Gala is a prestigious annual event, with
a veritable who’s-who of event professionals from around the U.S. in attendance.
“We had an overwhelming number of qualified nominees and the selection committee
faced a true challenge narrowing down the finalists to just a few," says John
Baragona, publisher of Event Solutions.
Hollywood Lighting Services, a
wholly owned subsidiary of Hollywood Lights, Inc, has won three other individual
event design awards in the past 24 months, but this is the first national honor
for overall achievement of the firm’s entire design team. “They approach their
lighting services with a mutually beneficial, solutions-minded attitude. Their
lighting plans are dazzling and effective, creating atmospheres filled with
moods both subtle and bold,” says Peter Mott of the Portland Rose Festival
Association, a veteran of many large-scale public events in the
Northwest.
A panel of judges selected award finalists based on
creativity, overall quality, technical and logistical challenges overcome,
teamwork, and innovation. The winner in each Spotlight Awards category will be

and July 15th, 2005. Biographies and work highlights for all finalists are
featured, giving the voter a complete look at each candidate.
