LA Femme Film Festival Announces Honorees Selected for the May 27-29 Festival
LA Femme Film Festival announced today its list of the special award honorees for the first year of this ground-breaking film festival premiering at the Los Angeles Center Studios in downtown Los Angeles on May 27- 29, 2005.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 20, 2005 -- Filmmaker and Actor, Henry Jaglom,
has been chosen to receive the “Independent Filmmaker’s Award”. Jaglom’s career
began in the cutting room helping to edit “Easy Rider” but his roots are firmly
planted in acting and directing. Jacqueline Bisset, renowned international film
star, will be honored with the “Pioneer Award”. The “Maverick Award” will be
presented to Penelope Spheeris who is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most
talented directors. LA Femme Film Festival’s “Visionary Award” will go to
Writer/Director Patricia Cardoso, whose directing credits include Real Women
Have Curves, winner of the Dramatic Audience Award at the Sundance Film
Festival. The “Lifetime Achievement Award” will be presented to award winning
actress, Sally Kirkland.
“These talented filmmakers represent among the
best that the film business has to offer,” said Leslie LaPage, President and

first year of our film festival for the contributions they have made to this

cross-over female artists into high profile “A List” female Producers, Directors
and Writers in the entertainment industry. This is a unique, multi-ethnic and

represent into distribution the festival’s competition films through Foundation
Films Distribution (FFD), which was formed by Leslie LaPage and David Aion
(Formerly of Lincoln Media Group, American Film Partners and currently serving
on the Board of Directors of Women in Film).
