Thirty-six wildly diverse women live their dreams, write new book
(PRWEB) May 19, 2005 -- May is Entrepreneur month and at Company of Women,
they have something special to celebrate – the publication of their first book,
"The Courage to Succeed: Inspiring Stories from Enterprising Women" (ISBN
0-9735057-8-8, TRIMATRIX - BEL Learning Publications).
Company of Women
celebrates people like Terri Smith, a Jamaican-Canadian who co-founded the AAT
School to help children who don’t fit the traditional school system. Or Debbie
Gracie-Smith, who started as a receptionist at a local real estate company and
today is ranked #56 in the top 100 women entrepreneur list produced by Profit
Magazine. "The Courage to Succeed: Inspiring Stories from Enterprising Women"
showcases thirty-six women, all involved in Company of Women. These are success
stories of women that have taken a personal and professional leap of faith. Each
woman shows passion and courage to follow her dream, and prove to women
everywhere that they can do it too.
"Joining Company of Women has helped
me to meet a wide range of outstanding individuals, with some amazing talents",
says Terri Smith. "I really feel at home in this group."
Women
entrepreneurs have increased by more than two hundred percent in the last twenty
years. As a result, women are seeking more opportunities to grow and network
than ever before. Company of Women provides that support with its monthly dinner
meetings, online and print directories as well as regular trade shows where
women can showcase their products and services.
“There are so many
how-to books out there”, observed Anne Day, Founder of Company of Women, “but
there are few that are directed at women, and that tell it as it is.” She adds
“We wanted to write a book that would inspire women to realize their dreams, and
that would be honest about the trials and triumphs of starting a business.”
The Courage to Succeed sells for $20.00 plus shipping and can be ordered
