PRWeb Adopts mRSS As New Standard for RSS Distribution
PRWeb users can now syndicate multimedia files as part of PRWeb’s Online Visibility Engine™.
Ferndale, WA (PRWEB) May 17, 2005 -- PRWeb set the pace for the press release
newswire industry when it announced last week an increase of available RSS Feeds
from 220 to over 15,000 corporate press release news feeds and unlimited,
dynamic RSS. Today, PRWeb announces the adoption of Media
RSS (mRSS), a new initiative that is spearheaded by Yahoo. PRWeb’s mRSS
adoption of mRSS allows users to syndicate multimedia files with press
releases.
PRWeb was the first major press release newswire to offer RSS
feeds years ago. Today, PRWeb is the first to offer mRSS distribution. PRWeb
mRSS feeds are a component of PRWeb’s Online Visibility Engine™.
This
service is available to all clients who attach multimedia files to their press
releases and is retroactive to all existing press releases on the PRWeb network.
The new feature is already activated on 3,700 client press release feeds, and
other clients can log into their news management console and group press
releases into RSS groups.
“PRWeb is committed to maintaining its
dominance in online press release visibility, said David McInnis, PRWeb founder
and CEO. “We continue to enhance our Online Visibility Engine™ (OVE) to help our
clients gain competitive advantages with both the media and the
consumer.”
PRWeb has been a leader in online visibility since its launch
in 1997 and has grown to become recognized by MediaReporter.org as one of the
top press release newswires.
“We are proud of our ability to quickly
identify emerging technologies and adapt our Online Visibility Engine™ to meet
our client’s needs for a stronger online presence,” said Mick Jolly, PRWeb
executive vice president. “The press release newswire industry is being
reshaped, and we are excited to be the primary driver behind this
movement.”
More information about mRSS and PRWeb's adoption of this
standard is available at the RSS Pad Blog.
